Last year the Blue Wave crashed from coast to coast, along with it sweeping in the crucial democratic House majority that provides a critical check on Trump's agenda every day.

However, we didn't win every close race.

My friend Carolyn Bourdeaux ran against an entrenched incumbent Republican in Georgia's 7th congressional district but lost by 419 votes out of over 280,000 cast.

It was a tough loss, but several months later her opponent realized he didn't want to step back into the ring with Carolyn for a rematch and he announced that he would retire.

In response, Carolyn immediately declared, "We're getting back in the fight".
