Friend,
This is a long email, but it's a good one: I have super exciting news about our recent advocacy efforts!
(TL;DR: From all of us on Team Evergreen, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your advocacy—it's making a real difference.)
6,617 official public comments opposing the Willow project
Recently, we asked our community to step up and to submit an official public comment opposing the Willow project—a Trump-era plan that would lock us into 30 years of new oil and gas drilling in Alaska.
We officially submitted your comments to the Bureau of Land Management—and I'm so proud to announce that we sent 6,617 official public comments from Evergreen Action activists like you!
This was a rare opportunity to directly influence decision-makers in the fight for our clean energy future. Together, we ensured that our collective voice will be heard loud and clear in this critical decision.
1,090 letters to the editor submitted about West Virginia v. EPA
We also recently asked supporters like you to use our tool to submit a letter to the editor to your local or regional newspaper. Editorials are still the most widely read section of the paper, and we desperately need to spread the word about the upcoming Supreme Court case that could undermine federal climate power.
Our jaws dropped when we saw that our grassroots community submitted 1,090 individual letters to 233 different news organizations across the country!
I'm excited to say that these letters have begun to be accepted and published, including one in the Seattle Times, which reaches more than half a million people daily! (Maybe you'll even see one in your local paper...)
Your voice is your most powerful tool in the climate movement. Thank you to the hundreds of you who used yours to elevate this issue and unite the vast majority of Americans who support the EPA and the Clean Air Act.
When we send out these calls to action, all we can do is hope that people will take a few minutes of their day to help out—and Evergreen advocates like you have never let us down.
That's why this grassroots community is special. We're taking thousands of real, substantive climate actions every single week. Know that when you take action with us, there are thousands of other climate activists right there alongside you, raising their voices for a just, livable clean energy future.
Proud to be in this with you,
Lena Moffitt
