Dear Friends,

I am writing to share with you that Senior Program Officer Tania Durán will be leaving the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation (ZSR) to move into the role of Senior Network Officer with the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation ([link removed]) .

Tania’s four-year tenure at the Foundation has resulted in many contributions for ZSR. As part of the Foundation’s All For NC Framework for Grantmaking and Learning, Tania played an important role in contributing to the strategy development and implementation of the Framework. Tania co-led the Foundation’s State-Level Systemic Change Strategy ([link removed]) (SLSC). As part of the SLSC strategy, Tania developed and implemented strategies for the Promoting Social and Economic Justice ([link removed]) portfolio, which focuses on issues around reproductive justice, immigration justice, criminal justice and economic justice. Additionally, Tania played a key role in transitioning ZSR’s environmental grantmaking by exploring its intersection with other justice issues through a racial equity lens and operationalizing this lens in ZSR’s work, including, but not limited to: building relationships; closing access gaps to resources, power and infrastructure;
and strengthening grassroots BIPOC infrastructure. As part of the Racial Equity team, Tania played a leadership role in building the Foundation’s capacity to deepen its racial and gender equity lens and developing concrete mechanisms to assess ZSR’s progress in operationalizing this lens through its grantmaking and strategies. Furthermore, Tania played leadership roles in promoting strategy alignment efforts with funder partners through her work in funder collaboratives.

"Working alongside and learning from grantee partners and communities across the state, through my role at ZSR, has been a wonderful and rewarding experience,” said Tania. “I look forward to continuing working together to transform the power structures to ensure all communities, particularly historically marginalized communities, thrive.”

Tania’s last day with the Foundation will be Friday, April 8, 2022. If you have any questions after that, please contact ZSR’s Assistant Director Nora Carr at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) .

Sincerely,

Maurice “Mo” Green
Executive Director, Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation
