One of the most common questions I get is, “Why are you running for Congress?”

My answer: because in the richest country on Earth, no one should be hungry, homeless, without healthcare, or in poverty. The planet shouldn’t be burning while do-nothing politicians take money from oil companies.

I’m running because we only have until 2030 to make the huge changes we need to avert the worst consequences of climate change. As a member of Congress, I would push for the end of the fossil fuel industry and a rapid transition to 100% renewable energy. I would fight for the creation of millions of new jobs in the process.

I’d rather go big and lose the battle than go small and lose the war — especially on climate change. We’re out of time.
