As a public defender, a judge, and the first Black woman to serve as Chief Justice on the North Carolina Supreme Court, Cheri has shown a fierce commitment to justice and to working families.

Those are the leadership qualities we need in the Senate. Cheri is fighting for good jobs for North Carolina workers, living wages that are enough to support a family, and lower health care costs.

Cheri is facing a crowded field of GOP opponents, including a Trump-endorsed candidate who is backed by a conservative super PAC committed to spending $10 million in the race and who self-financed his own campaign with hundreds of thousands of dollars from his own bank account.

That couldn’t be further from the kind of campaign Cheri is running. She’s gaining grassroots momentum. With strong and steady support, I know she can defeat dark money and her wealthy opponents at the ballot box. [[link removed]]

This is going to be a tough race though.

Recent polling shows Cheri is in a statistical tie with her GOP opponents and FiveThirtyEight says North Carolina is one of seven races that will decide control of the Senate.
