It's been one month since the start of the war in Ukraine, and more than half of Ukraine’s children have been displaced. That’s 4.3 million children, in one of the fastest large-scale displacements of children since World War II.
A month can feel like a lifetime for children who are fleeing violence, leaving behind family and wondering where they’ll sleep at night. For those who remain in Ukraine, lack of access to basic necessities like shelter, safe water and medication pose additional threats to children’s safety and well-being.
When we send out updates like this one, we are humbled by how many of you ask, “How can I help?” The answer is with a gift – to send UNICEF staff and essential supplies to the children of Ukraine. This crisis isn’t ending tomorrow, and UNICEF needs your help to prepare for the long-term impacts. |
