During Ro’s first election, not accepting corporate PAC money was a revolutionary act. Through the formation of the No PAC Caucus and Ro’s steadfast rule of never accepting PAC money, how money influences politics has changed forever.
Don’t get us wrong — there’s still so much work to be done. We need to end Citizens United, which treats political donations from corporations like individual giving. We need to abolish the impact special interests have on people in positions of power, and uplift the power and voices of everyday Americans when it comes to our elections.
But what Ro started 8 years ago by refusing corporate money has snowballed into more and more candidates and Members of Congress rejecting corporate PAC money each year.
