Hello Team,

Once again, the Trump-appointed conservative majority on the Supreme Court is disregarding precedent and the separation of powers, using their position on the Highest Court in the Land to take ideological, partisan, political action.

In deciding to hear West Virginia v. EPA, the Court has made it very possible that they will strip the Federal Government and Environmental Protection Agency of any powers they have to regulate pollution and the emissions of greenhouse gasses. This decision will come at the time where we need to limit greenhouse gasses more than ever - with scientists, governments, and organizations around the world telling us we have little (if any) time to act and prevent the worst of environmental catastrophe. 

It is imperative that my colleagues on both sides of the aisle understand the existential crisis of climate change and the incredible dangers of inaction - that is why I am asking you to join me in signing this petition to tell Congress: defend our environment against Supreme Court rollbacks!

I have been fighting to protect our environment since before I joined Congress. I took a stand and became an original co-sponsor of the Green New Deal because my constituents and I recognized the need to take big, bold action to preserve our planet for future generations. The costs of climate change are already hurting people across the Commonwealth and country - we cannot let the conservative Supreme Court tie our hands and prohibit necessary climate action.
