Dear John,

Attacks on abortion access are coming fast and furious. The Supreme Court, as you know, is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade in the next few months. Abortion is still effectively banned in Texas. Idaho just passed a law following in Texas’s footsteps. The Florida legislature has voted to ban abortion at 15 weeks. West Virginia is set to do the same. And on and on.

But we cannot and will not give up the fight. It is critical that we keep pushing forward to secure and expand access to abortion everywhere we possibly can.

That’s why we’re excited to bring you news of victories secured by NIRH’s state partners over the last week.

First, Oregon approved a historic and unprecedented establishment of a $15 million dollar reproductive health fund, which includes funding for abortion care. This bold, groundbreaking funding model will strengthen the infrastructure of access to abortion care in the northwest, especially as Oregon becomes a nexus of care for people who travel there from across the northwest and beyond. We thank and congratulate our partners Pro-Choice Oregon and the Northwest Abortion Access Project on this win!

And yesterday, the Colorado legislature passed the Reproductive Health Equity Act, which establishes the fundamental right to choose or refuse contraception, to have an abortion or give birth, and refutes the dangerous concept of fetal personhood. NIRH is proud to have partnered with Colorado Organization for Latina Opportunity and Reproductive Rights (COLOR) and Cobalt to push this legislation over the finish line.

Please consider making a donation to NIRH [[link removed]] so we can keep up our critical work of expanding access to abortion care and reproductive freedom alongside our partners, on the ground, everywhere we can.
