Folks, Today is the final day of nomination hearings for President Biden’s nominee to the Supreme Court, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. Not only does she have a stellar record of accomplishment, she showed an unprecedented level of resolve and perseverance this week in the face of demagoguery from the Republican members of the Judicial Committee. If confirmed, Judge Jackson would be the first Black woman in history to serve as a justice on the Supreme Court. She would also be the first former public defender, bringing much-needed diversity and experience that the bench has lacked since its founding. As the confirmation hearings wrap up, I’m working with my colleagues to ensure that Judge Jackson receives a fair and quick confirmation — and I need your help.
There’s no question that Republicans have used this confirmation as an opportunity to divide us, and will continue to do so.
