When companies disguise job cuts as a sustainability measure, it endangers trust in proven environmental programs.
That’s why it’s so important that Marriott customers watch our new video about the company’s so-called “Green Choice” program.
When asked to “Make a Green Choice” and skip housekeeping services for points, Marriott guests might think they’re making a choice to help the environment. But the truth is, zero leading environmental studies recommend skipping housekeeping in the name of sustainability, and climate leaders like Sierra Club and the Union of Concerned Scientists reject the program.
Plain and simple, Marriott’s “Green Choice” program hurts housekeepers. When there are less rooms to clean, housekeepers lose wages and benefits – and they also report pain, injury, and even using more harsh chemicals when cleaning “Green Choice” rooms.
Don’t be fooled. Click HERE to watch the video.
Join hotel housekeepers and leading environmental groups like the Sierra Club, and pledge to not use “Green Choice” when you stay at their hotels. Together, let’s tell Marriott to create a REAL sustainability program.
In solidarity,

P.S. Housekeepers know that we can’t meet the existential threat of climate change with job-cutting programs branded as environmental measures. Watch what housekeepers have to say about Marriott's "Green Choice," and share the video on Facebook and Twitter.
