$11 million for projects within Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District.

Dear John,

You all, my supporters, are the reason I am in Congress right now. That’s why it’s so important to me to keep you updated on exactly how I’m fighting for Georgians in Washington. Here’s what I’ve been working on for the last couple of weeks:

  1. Passing $11 million for projects within Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District. I co-authored H.R. 2471, securing $11 million that will directly support programs in Georgia that promote literacy, healthcare, education, infrastructure, community programs, and public safety. The legislation also provides military, humanitarian, and economic assistance to Ukraine.

  2. Announcing $2.8 million award to Primary Care of Southwest Georgia. This $2,789,447 Health Center Program award will allow this Blakely health center to continue providing much needed care in Early County and across Southwest Georgia. They intend to use these dollars to establish an in-house pharmacy in Thomasville, which will help reduce travel times for Georgians accessing comprehensive medical care.

  3. Helping lead passage of resolution supporting HBCUs and condemning bomb threats. As a proud graduate of Morehouse College, and as a Representative for the communities around Fort Valley State University and Albany State University, I spoke passionately before the full U.S. House of Representatives in recognizing the vital role these institutions play and condemning threats of violence against them. 2022 Congressional Art Competition: In other news, I want to invite high school students from Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District to participate in the 41st Annual Congressional Art Competition. All participants will be invited to attend a reception at the Albany Museum of Art on Friday, April 22, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m., where all submissions will be on display, and a winner will be announced.

A Request: I want to keep focused on delivering for Georgians in Washington, but with Republicans convinced that this is the year they can beat me, and high–profile races for Senate and Governor drawing in millions of GOP dark money, I have to make sure I can stay competitive and win in November. So please, will you help me keep working for Georgians by chipping in $5 for my reelection campaign today?
