*Just announced:?*FY 2022 NICS Act Record Improvement Program (NARIP)** [ [link removed] ]

BJS seeks applications for funding for the 2022 National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) Act Record Improvement Program (NARIP). Eligible states and tribes may receive grant funding to improve the completeness, automation, and transmittal of records to state and federal systems used by NICS.

Applications will be submitted in a two-step process, each with its own deadline:


* Step 1: Submit an SF-424 and an SF-LLL in Grants.gov [ [link removed] ]. *Grants.gov forms are due on May 19, 2022 by 8:59 p.m. ET.*
* Step 2*:* Submit the full application including attachments in JustGrants.usdoj.gov [ [link removed] ]. *The full JustGrants application is due on **May 26, 2022** by 8:59 p.m. ET.*

*Actions needed associated with Unique Entity Identifiers (UEI) transition *

As part of the federal government?s transition from the Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) to UEI, Grants.gov will transition to UEI at 11:59 p.m. ET on March 31, 2022. A recent JustGrants announcement [ [link removed] ] includes important information about the transition and actions that entities must take when applying for funding opportunities with a Grants.gov close date after March 31, 2022.
