Alabama is fortunate to be home to more than 300,000 veterans and their families. From Redstone Arsenal
and the Anniston Army Depot, to Maxwell Air Force Base, Fort Rucker and our Coast Guard in Mobile—countless active duty service members and
their loved ones have called Alabama home for a few short years and many decide to make Alabama their permanent home after answering the call to
service. We owe our veterans a debt of gratitude and make a commitment to care for them in return.
There are many programs and resources available to our veterans across Alabama, but I know it can sometimes be overwhelming to figure out what
resources are available and how to access them. That’s why I will be hosting a
veterans resource fair and town hall in Birmingham on Monday, November 25. This community forum will be an
opportunity for veterans and their families to learn more about services offered in Alabama. The resource fair will feature various non-profits and
government agencies that will share information and opportunities available for veterans. Afterward, we will hear from veterans—from all walks
of life and branches of service—at my town hall about their service experience and transition into civilian life.
Details for Monday, November 25 Lakeshore Foundation 4000 Ridgeway
Drive Birmingham, AL 35209
Veterans Resource Fair begins at 4:00 p.m.
Veterans Town hall begins at 5:30 p.m.
Our veterans in Alabama—and across the nation—are an invaluable asset to our communities. Let's work
together to ensure we are providing the best care possible for those who selflessly answered the call of service.
I look forward to seeing you there!
