As the only Senator to have worked at Planned Parenthood, I have always been a fierce advocate of reproductive rights. I know the importance of fighting for reproductive justice, and how close we are to seeing these rights stripped away.
That’s why I’m starting the Reproductive Rights Report, semi-regular updates from me and my team about the fight for reproductive justice.
It’s important to me that you know the truth about the seemingly endless wave of assaults to our rights happening across the country, and unfortunately, we’re facing an uphill battle.
Despite the absolutely heroic performance of Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson during the nomination hearings this week, the Supreme Court is still stacked with an anti-choice majority. They have also given indications that they could overturn Roe v. Wade this year. At the state level, anti-abortion laws are getting more and more extreme after the passage of Texas law SB 8. Just yesterday, Republican Governor Brad Little of Idaho signed an abortion ban modeled after the Texas law, even as he admitted it was almost certainly unconstitutional.
Other states are sure to follow suit, but let me be clear — I won’t give up, and I know you won’t either. Now is the time for us to come together and fight back.

To guarantee our constitutionally protected right to an abortion, we must abolish the filibuster so we can pass the Women’s Health Protection Act and end the assaults at the state level. We must pass the Judiciary Act to expand the Supreme Court so it reflects our shared values and our core beliefs.
That’s why I’m working so hard to protect and expand our majorities in Congress. But to do that, we need to build the strongest grassroots program possible, and organize for our rights. That’s where you come in.
