- Writing Lead
But as I share these jobs, I wanted to take this opportunity to make something about our movement very clear. While our full-time staff are key to helping Sunrise grow, the most important work in our movement is happening in our hubs across the country.
That’s because in order to win a Green New Deal, our movement needs to be massive. We need to build strike networks that can bring millions of people into the streets in every corner of the country, and pressure politicians in every state from the federal to the local level.
A couple dozen people on staff, no matter how many hours we spend behind our computer screens or out canvassing, can’t make that happen. That can only be done by a network of tens of thousands of people, going all-in with Sunrise just by giving whatever you can: showing up to hub meetings and actions on early mornings or late nights after work; knocking doors on weekends to help get out the youth vote; and chipping in a few dollars when you’re able.
That’s why our full-time staff are actually called the Movement Support Team--we’re only here to support the mass volunteer movement. And as our movement has grown more than 20-fold in the last year, we’ve had to grow a lot to meet your needs: from coaching on organizing strategy, to graphic design, to help building just and equitable hubs.
So, take a look at the job postings and if you think you’d be a good person to serve the movement in a full-time capacity, fantastic! But whatever you choose, just remember that leadership in Sunrise isn’t defined by a job title--it’s defined just by showing up in our movement however you can, wherever you are, and giving that your all.

P.S. In the past year, our movement has grown from just 20 hubs to over 300. If we keep up this pace, we’ll be on track to make historic interventions in the 2020 election. But we can’t do it without growing our Movement Support Team. Can you chip in today to help us keep hiring and expanding as we gear up for the most important election of our lives?
