Team — over the last two years, we’ve seen again and again how the burdens of the pandemic and of rising costs fall disproportionately on women.

And yet, we’ve also seen how, here in Maryland, the issues that are most critical to women’s success have been pushed to the back burner by the current Republican administration.

It’s not enough to simply flip Maryland blue. We deserve a Governor who will make it a priority, day in and day out, to ensure that all women have access to opportunity. And without a doubt, that leader is my husband Tom Perez.

It’s not just me saying this, folks. This week, Tom was endorsed by more than 230 women across the state of Maryland — incredible public servants, community leaders, and progressive activists who are on the front lines on issues like reproductive freedom, pay equity, health care, and economic opportunity.

These Maryland women have come together to found Women for Tom because Tom has been a champion of these issues throughout his career. From working as a civil rights attorney, to fighting for equity as President Obama’s Secretary of Labor — to being the most dedicated supporter and cheerleader our daughters and I could ever ask for — Tom has been advocating for women in every corner of Maryland and the nation.

And personally, I think that’s exactly what we need in our next Governor.
