👨💻Weekly Labor Roundup👷♀️
|
☕ Thanks to Atlanta DSA organizers, Atlanta City Council unanimously passed Resolution 22-R-3250, formalizing support for Starbucks partners and all workers in the city fighting for free and fair union elections!
☕ Starbucks locations across the state continue to organize, as Augusta becomes the newest store to officially file a union petition with the NLRB.
☕ In national news, the NLRB has issued a formal complaint against the Starbucks corporation for retaliating against employees attempting to unionize.
☕ Seattle Starbucks has become the latest location to unanimously vote to unionize!

📦 Delivery station workers affiliated with Amazonians United participated in walkouts in 3 different stations in New York City and Maryland. Demands included a $3 raise, increased staffing, and a return to 20-minute breaks after being reduced to 15.
📦 Two Staten Island Amazon warehouses have upcoming union votes, and votes for Bessemer's second union election (after the first was ruled invalid due to Amazon's interference) are scheduled to be counted next week on March 28.

🌯 Workers at vegetarian food company Amy's Kitchen filed an OSHA complaint for unsafe working conditions, such as lack of bathroom and drinking water access, locked fire exits, and other health and safety hazards. Workers have also reported mistreatment and union busting.

✊ Help us #Fightfor15 in Georgia ✊
|
Millions of workers put their lives on the line daily for unlivable wages and unfair treatment in the workplace. And while the pandemic surges on, the 1% continues to exploit working people for profits. Enough is enough: working Georgians deserve a living wage of at least $15/hour!
Atlanta DSA has been busy over the last month launching our campaign to Fight for $15 — talking to working Georgians about the cost of living and why we need to fight for a living wage!
