Tuberculosis is the second leading cause of death from infectious disease worldwide after COVID-19. With 98% of tuberculosis cases occurring in low- and middle-income countries, those least equipped to fight the disease are the most affected.

And yet, many of us don't know much about it, or have been misinformed by popular period drama books or series.

Over the last 20 years, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria has helped save 44 million lives and given the world the tools to end these preventable global threats, but that progress is threatened by the COVID-19 pandemic.
