What does 14/88 symbolize on a white supremacist banner?

Which Islamist group publishes hate online in Wolves of Manhattan?

How do anti-government groups push Citizens’ Grand Juries in ‘paper terrorism’ efforts?

John, as a fellow member of the ADL community who is justifiably concerned about the extremism that fuels hate across the United States, I want to encourage you to use our powerful new resource, the Glossary of Extremism, to answer questions, stay informed and take action.

Our Glossary of Extremism is a first-of-its-kind interactive and searchable database providing definitions of terms used by extremist groups and movements including white supremacists, antisemites, Islamist extremists and single-issue extremists such as ecoterrorists and incels.

This vital new resource pulls back the curtain for you, revealing the meaning behind names, terms and concepts within the ideologies and conspiracy theories embraced by domestic extremists.

The Glossary describes ‘6 Million Wasn’t Enough’ as an antisemitic phrase referencing the Holocaust that is used by white supremacists.

The Glossary defines nearly 900 terms and concepts so far and will be constantly updated in this living resource compiled by the ADL Center on Extremism’s researchers. It is the latest in a body of online research tools at the cutting edge of exposing hate, including our database of hate symbols and ADL H.E.A.T. Map.

An informed public is critical to the defense of democracy. Our glossary provides you with accurate assessments of the theories and disinformation currently espoused and championed by extremists. We believe it is the most comprehensive and intuitive publicly available resource on extremist speech.

If extremism in your community and around the world is of concern to you, we also recommend subscribing to the ADL Center on Extremism Monthly, a free online newsletter full of the news, trends and insights provided by our experts.

Thank you for staying informed and speaking out against antisemitism, extremism and other forms of hate with ADL.

Ukraine Crisis: Resources and What You Can Do

ADL condemns in the strongest terms Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and aggression towards the Ukrainian people. This unnecessary war has caused thousands of deaths, is unleashing untold misery on the civilian population, and threatens the independence of Ukraine, a sovereign country and a fellow democracy.

Go to ADL’s Ukraine Crisis section for ways to help organizations doing vital humanitarian work, to advocate for refugees, to learn about Ukraine and its Jewish community and to fight the spread of misinformation about the conflict, including Russian claims that the Ukrainian government and its leaders are “Nazis.”
