Last month, in front of a cheering crowd, an election conspiracy theorist said Jena should be hung. Election officials around the country are receiving death threats from far-right extremists. Serving in elected office or working in election administration should NOT mean signing up for threats of violence.
That’s why Jena is working on legislation to provide protections for Colorado election workers and so that she and other statewide officials can receive state patrol security. These threats have gone too far.
