Folks – I’m about to ask you to chip in $25 or whatever you can towards my FEC end-of-quarter fundraising goal, but first I want to explain why we need to end the damned Senate filibuster.

Right now, we have an even 50/50 split in the Senate. And nine times out of ten, Senate Republicans are going to capitalize on the 50/50 split and abuse the Senate filibuster to block legislation.

Why? Because Republicans would rather stick it to Democrats than pass overwhelmingly popular legislation to address climate change, gun violence, immigration reform, and healthcare affordability.

We can’t let a minority of Senators unilaterally block policies that will help the American people – we worked too hard to flip the House and Senate to not make the most of our majorities.

Voters sent Democratic leadership to Congress and the White House because they believed in our vision to build back better.

But Republicans are obstructing our progress at every turn, and we must do everything in our power to prevent them from taking back the House majority this year.

There’s simply too much at stake – from healthcare to our democracy and our environment – to allow Republicans to regain control and set back our progress by decades.

That’s why I’m reaching out today – I need you to chip in $25 or more to my end-of-quarter goal so that I can defend my seat and maintain our Democratic House majority. Can I count on you?
