Jack: Gas prices are inching closer to $6.00 every day, and our efforts to demand relief at the pump have put Gavin Newsom and the California Democrats in hot water. The pressure is WORKING.
Newsom is CAVING and has proposed a one-time $400 per vehicle (2 per household) “gas rebate,” a pause to July’s planned 2.86¢ gas tax increase, and 3 months of free public transit.
But Newsom’s fellow Democrats in Sacramento aren’t on board yet — and are threatening to nuke the bill.
If they have it their way, they’ll only send you a one-time $200 rebate.
Here's the shady catch: Their rebate is only for those that filed income taxes (sorry, students and the unemployed!) – and even crazier, it would even be sent to those who don't pay for gas — electric vehicle owners!
BOTH proposals would be more fair and could get you a LOT more money back if they just suspend the state gas taxes instead.
In fact, suspending the state gas taxes could save you $1.26 per gallon, or $215 per month.

But Newsom and the Democrats are hoping to bribe you with less than you deserve.
First, they tried to bribe you during Covid with vacations and tickets to theme parks if you got vaccinated. Now, they want to bribe you with a rebate to forget about sticker shock at gas stations that the Democrats have caused!
While we wait to see more details on the rebate proposals — and the battle between Democrats — we must keep up the pressure for them to do MORE.
We are fighting to suspend the state gas taxes and elect Republican candidates in November who will push for change.
