This week marked the beginning of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Senate confirmation hearing.
Although it’s long overdue, I’m proud to be witnessing history as the Senate considers the FIRST EVER Black woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court. And I’m proud that, with your support, I’ll join her in making history as the FIRST EVER Black woman to represent NJ-10.
When Black women start pushing for representation, there are always people who will do anything they can to keep us down.
Right now, the GOP is doing everything in their power to tar Ketanji Brown Jackson’s reputation, questioning her qualifications, degrading her experience, and casting doubt on her abilities. And Rep. Payne Jr. and his New Jersey machine allies are doing the exact same thing to me.
They’re calling both of us unqualified. They’re calling both of us inexperienced. And in both cases, they’re dead wrong.
