This week, the Senate Judiciary Committee began hearings on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to the United States Supreme Court.
Judge Jackson has proven herself as a brilliant and eminently qualified jurist, one with a proven track record on the bench as a federal judge who deserves to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court — and we must demand that she be given a fair confirmation process.
If confirmed, Judge Jackson would be the first Black woman, and the first former public defender, to serve on the Supreme Court — bringing a unique voice and much-needed perspective to the nation’s highest judicial body.
We’ve already seen Republicans attack her character and question her qualifications, as well as their attempts to turn one of the Senate’s most important responsibilities into divisive political theater. Mitch McConnell has already stolen two Supreme Court seats in recent years — we cannot allow it to happen again. So please:
Thank you in advance for adding your voice today.
