Dear Friend, |
While the earth needs a good lawyer, it also needs a good judge. |
President Biden recently announced Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson as his nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is the most important court in the country, and its rulings dramatically impact our daily lives. |
Judge Jackson is one of the most brilliant legal minds in our country and brings the legal expertise and judicial temperament we need in a Supreme Court Justice. She has a clear record of making decisions based on facts, science, and settled law — not political ideology. Her sterling record and career as a federal judge and a public defender demonstrate her impartiality and fairness. She will uphold the law with empathy, fairness and equality. It’s also critical that such an important institution represent the diversity of our country, and if confirmed, Judge Jackson will be the first Black woman to serve on the court. |
Help us make history and confirm Judge Jackson to the Supreme Court. |
Our environmental laws are only as strong as the judges who uphold them, and Judge Jackson’s nomination couldn’t come at a more critical time. The current conservative supermajority of the court is on the precipice of overturning decades of long-settled precedents to further a political agenda at the expense of our rights and protections. |
If you care about safeguarding clean air and water, protecting our wild spaces and wildlife, and making sure that Congress and the President have the authority to combat climate change and protect public health, you must care about this nomination and the integrity of our courts. |
Contact your Senators and tell them to confirm Judge Jackson to the Supreme Court as quickly as possible. |
