Wawa Community Day Honoring Women's History Month
Saturday, March 26, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. ET
In celebration of Women’s History Month, Wawa and the National Constitution Center are teaming up to offer visitors a free Wawa Community Day Honoring Women’s History Month. Admission to the National Constitution Center will be free courtesy of Wawa, with Wawa Innovation Network (WIN) associate volunteers serving hot beverages, pretzels, pastries, as supplies last, from Wawa’s Community Care Van.

“Four Harriets” Program, 10:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.
- Visitors can explore the lives of four American women—Harriet Robinson Scott, Harriet Tubman, Harriet Jacobs, and Harriet Beecher Stowe—who confronted slavery through literature, lawsuits, and direct action in their efforts to free themselves and others from bondage.
Story Corner, 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
- A museum educator will read the stories of history making women and the fight for equality to young learners.
Kids Town Hall: Meet the Suffragists, 11:45 a.m.

Visitors can participate in a special Kids Town Hall with famous figures from the suffrage movement. Register here
Scholar Talk – Women’s Civil War: What Changed, What Didn’t With Judith Giesberg, 12:45 p.m.

Join Dr. Judith Giesberg of Villanova University for a discussion that will consider how and where women’s status and popular attitudes toward gender and race changed during the Civil War. Register here
Scholar Talk – Fannie Lou Hammer With tonya thames-taylor, 1:45 p.m.
- Storyteller tonya thames taylor, associate professor in the department of history and the founding director of the African American Studies program at West Chester University, discusses how voting rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer's life proves how exercising the right to vote changes lives and communities. Women Leading the Way, 3:15 p.m.
- Visitors can enjoy Women Leading the Way, an interactive presentation which explores generations of American women who led the fight for suffrage.
