Coloradans Standing with Ukraine
Two months ago unprovoked Putin invaded Ukraine, a sovereign nation. Since that time he has bombed a maternity hospital, and attacked civilians in ceasefire zones leaving more than 3.5 million people displaced, and almost 1000 Ukrainian civilians have died.
And what are we doing locally in Colorado?
Coloradans are stepping up to help support the people of Ukraine in many ways. Whether it's donating money to Project CURE or local police departments from Fremont County to Colorado Springs to Durango and beyond helped collect over 1000 pieces of protective gear to be sent to Ukraine.
Governor Polis posted on instagram:
In the true spirit of Colorado, I am proud that Colorado law enforcement stepped up to support the brave people of Ukraine. We have collected more than 1,000 ballistic helmets and nearly 840 complete sets of surplus body armor from over 25 local law enforcement agencies to send to the Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom and democracy.
