We wanted to make sure you saw the news that President Joe Biden signed Mike’s bill to rename the San Diego Veterans Affairs Medical Center after U.S. Army Captain Jennifer M. Moreno.

Born and raised by her single mother in San Diego’s Logan Heights, Moreno was a highly-decorated combat veteran from San Diego who was killed in action while on deployment in Afghanistan in October 2013. The San Diego VA Medical Center is now the first VA health care facility in the country named after a woman veteran of color.

Moreno is a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice defending this country, and it’s Mike’s hope that her bravery will inspire young women in our community and across the country to pursue careers in public service. Team Levin is proud of Mike's commitment to giving women servicemembers and veterans the recognition they deserve.
