We can’t afford for things to stay this way.
As we head into our last end-of-quarter deadline before our primary, our campaign wanted to reach out with some important information about why we need your support today.
Here are three facts about our country that show why our progressive movement is so necessary:
- At the current federal minimum wage, you’d need to work almost 2.5 full-time jobs just to afford the average 2-bedroom apartment.
- An average of 29% of Americans have to choose between paying for medication or other basic needs.
- A 2019 poll from Data for Progress showed a majority of all voters (Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and everyone in between) would be more likely to re-elect their representative if they co-sponsor the Green New Deal. Yet, the bill continues to be viewed as ‘radical’ and ‘unpassable’.
American families can’t afford for things to stay this way. We need progress — and we’ll only achieve it by educating, advocating, organizing, and keeping bold progressive voices like Ro’s in the halls of power. But doing all of that requires resources.
