** Implementation of the Mass Care Exit Strategy Update -03/16/2022

Provided by the Facilitated Workgroup on March 17, 2022.

Implementation Status Update 031622
The workgroup is continuing to meet to maintain alignment and progress through implementation of the client / community focused approach for exit from mass care that was unanimously approved by the Mayor and Assembly in AR2021-350. A communications specialist will be joining the facilitated workgroup to support proactive communications with the community about the mass care exit activities. The next meeting is March 23, 2022.

"RAIS has been serving Ukrainian refugees for more than 40 years, and we continue to help Ukrainian families start new lives in Alaska. Our entire agency has watched with horror and heartbreak as we witness the needless loss of life and home for our neighbors across the world.

Because of how recently this conflict in Ukraine unfolded, there are not yet any new arrivals here in Alaska who are fleeing the current crisis. However, we do anticipate an influx of new arrivals from Ukraine and Russia, where many flee for political reasons, in as little as 6 months and possibly for the next several years. The RAIS team is also working with our current Ukrainian and Russian clients to help guide them through process of bringing any friends and family here to Alaska through the resettlement process."

** National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Anchorage

Registrations are open for NAMI Peer-to-Peer

NAMI Peer-to-Peer ([link removed]) is a free mental health, wellness and recovery program open to any adult (18+) experiencing a mental health challenge - no official diagnosis required!

Each class is led by trained NAMI mentors who have lived with mental illness and can understand and teach about mental health recovery. This course is a valuable resource that will help you uncover what living well looks like for YOU. With new knowledge, tools and support, you can better take charge of your life and choices.

The 8-week course will be held Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 PM beginning April 6th in Anchorage. Participants are expected to attend each class as each class session builds on the knowledge of previous classes. All class materials are provided.

CoC and YHDP Recipient and Applicant Transition to UEI – March 29, 2022
On April 4, 2022, the U.S. Government will transition from using the Dun & Bradstreet data universal numbering system (DUNS) to the new government-issued Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) as a means of entity identification for federal awards. Entities must be registered in SAM.gov ([link removed]) to qualify for federal awards, which are reported to the public through USASpending.gov ([link removed]) . For more information, visit the DUNS to UEI (SAM) Transition page ([link removed]) . eLOCCS ([link removed]) users were made aware of this change via email on February 23, 2022.

If you have a SAM.gov registration, active or inactive, you have already been assigned a UEI which you will see on your entity’s registration record in SAM.gov. The UEI must also be listed on all federal grant agreements. To ensure your UEI is on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 Continuum of Care (CoC) grant agreements and FY 2019 and 2020 Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) grant agreements, you must update your organization’s Project Applicant profile in e-snaps ([link removed]) on or before March 29, 2022. If the UEI is current in your e-snaps profile, it will populate on the grant agreement.

All organizations that receive federal funds, including CoC and YHDP Program funds, must maintain an active SAM registration with current information while they have an active federal award or an application or plan under consideration by HUD. SAM.gov registrations must be updated annually.

This document walks through how to place an organization’s Applicant Profile in edit mode so the UEI can be entered and then how the Applicant Profile can be placed in complete mode. [link removed]

Alliance Releases New Rapid Re-Housing Toolkit

The Alliance has just released an updated version of its Rapid Re-Housing Toolkit ([link removed]) . The toolkit provides new insights, guidance, and reference materials to demonstrate the core components of Rapid Re-Housing (RRH): housing identification; rent and move-in assistance; and case management and services.

Providers; funders, state leaders, and coalitions; and Continuums of Care (CoCs) can use the Rapid Re-Housing Toolkit to deepen their understanding of RRH and integrate these best practices into their communities.
