As we approach the first FEC deadline of the midterm election year, I
wanted to take a moment to write this email and let you know why your
support means so much.

Time and time again, this grassroots team has shown up for me, our
democracy, and our country during the most pivotal moments in modern
history. In 2020, you raised millions to help elect President Biden,
protect our majority in the House, and secure the Senate by the slimmest
margin possible. You did that.

Then last year, you helped raise over $500,000 to stop the Republican-led
recall of California Governor Gavin Newsom. And whenever Donald Trump,
Kevin McCarthy, or their Fox News mouthpieces launched a new attack
against me, you have stood at the ready to help me respond. You did that.

John, I’ll never take your support for granted because I know
how lucky I am to have a grassroots team as passionate and courageous as
this one backing me and our democracy every step of the way.

As we inch closer and closer to November, I’m going to be counting on you
more and more. Democrats have a chance at winning the midterm elections,
but it’s not going to be easy. It’s going to require persistence, hard
work, and a grassroots movement.
