Junk fees cost working families billions of dollars every year.
These predatory fees are present all throughout the economy, including bank charges, overdraft fees, and even gift cards.
The CFPB recently published a study that found banks charged around $15 billion in overdraft and non-sufficient funds fees alone. Working families should not be forced to fund the warped profit models for big banks through manipulative junk fees.
The CFPB is seeking public comment on new regulations cracking down on junk fees. Corporations are submitting public comments defending their shady practices, but we’re mobilizing consumers to fight back.
Junk fees don’t impact us all equally. 90% of all overdraft fees are paid by only 10% of consumers.
Plus, junk fees are an especially big problem in rural areas that are increasingly becoming banking deserts, leaving people with far more limited options.
The Six PAC supports candidates who stand with consumers and refuse money from Wall Street PACs.
We need to stop these exploitative fees that specifically target those who can least afford them. Can you submit a public comment to stop junk fees from ripping off working families?
Thanks for taking action.
