Friend,

For twelve years, the Affordable Care Act has changed the lives of millions.

This landmark legislation has helped 20 million Americans get health care coverage. Up to 130 million Americans -- a third of our nation’s population -- can no longer be denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition.

For millions of people who work hard but still can’t afford the high costs of health care for their families, the ACA has been a lifeline -- and in many cases, literally so.

Despite the overwhelmingly positive impact the ACA has had on the lives of every American, Republicans will not give up their crusade against it. Because of Greg Abbott and Texas Republicans, we are one of a handful of states that has still not expanded Medicaid -- leaving nearly one million eligible Texans without the health insurance that the ACA offers.

That's why Texas Democrats continue to fight hard for Medicaid expansion, which would keep Texans healthy, create jobs, save employers money, help rural hospitals keep their doors open, and combat systemic racism in the healthcare system.

Friend, Texans deserve leaders who are fighting to protect them, not put them in harm's way. Democrats have proven time and again that we are the only ones who can get the job done, so will you rush $7 right now so we can elect Democrats who will protect and expand our human right to healthcare?

As Democrats, we will continue to fight for quality, affordable healthcare for Texans -- because caring for people makes sense.

In service and hope,
