There are 30 Republicans in the Kentucky state Senate, and only 8 Democrats. Progressive change can feel like an uphill battle.

But even a Republican supermajority can’t stop me from fighting for Kentucky.

From protecting marriage equality from right-wing attacks to ensuring support for survivors of domestic violence, I’ve passed laws to help Kentucky families. It’s why I love being a legislator. And I’m going to do the same thing in Congress.

I’m determined to fight for the things that Louisville families need, like paid family leave and real action on climate change. And while passing progressive policies in Congress might sound like an uphill battle to some, I’m ready for the fight.
