Well, John, here's the deal – with so many vacancies on Pennsylvania’s federal courts, our U.S. senators have an opportunity to significantly change the makeup of the courts. This means that history is in our hands, and if our senators work to fill these vacancies, the future can be in our favor.
Strides have been made with the recent nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the United States Supreme Court. Judge Jackson became the first-ever Black woman U.S. Supreme Court nominee, but our work to expand the electorate is far from over, and our nation’s courts continue to lack representation.
It’s time to demand change and fill judicial vacancies so that the makeup of the courts reflects the people they serve. It is our responsibility to be the change we want to see in the world.
We need our Senators to stand up and do the job they were elected to do, to represent us and reflect our values for this monumental confirmation.
We have already seen where Senator Toomey’s priorities stand, especially on the issues of racial and gender diversity. But luckily, Senator Casey can work to be the voice of reason and reflect our values for this monumental decision.
