The U.S. is facing a labor crisis. With an aging citizenry, slow population growth, and labor shortages in key industries, increasing immigration is part of the solution. But to do so, we need to change our current broken system.
The need for meaningful, bipartisan immigration reform is more critical than ever. It’s not only the right thing but the smart thing to do.
It’s why we’re hard at work pushing for incremental reforms to the system – read on for more.
1986 campaign
It’s been 36 years since meaningful immigration reform was passed by Congress.
Everything – from the technology we use to the shows we consume to how we dress and the way we communicate – looks much different than it did then. The world has evolved – shouldn't our immigration laws?
That’s the premise of our new 1986 campaign.
You too can call Congress for incremental immigration reforms.

New poll: Majority of Americans support key immigration reforms
According to a new poll released last month, an overwhelming majority of Republicans, Independents and Republicans want lawmakers to work together on key immigration reforms. They want action now.
The Alliance for a New Immigration Consensus
Last month, on the heels of President Biden’s State of the Union address, the Forum joined nearly 30 organizations in announcing the Alliance for a New Immigration Consensus (ANIC), which is calling for bipartisan legislative solutions on immigration and border security in 2022.
More specifically, the Alliance is urging Congress to act this year on reforms that will boost security and compassion at our borders, as well as provide permanent protections for Dreamers, agricultural workers, and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders.
The time for action on immigration is now. Even President Biden made mention of the need for reforms during his address by stating that "if we are to advance liberty and justice, we need to secure the Border and fix the immigration system."
