Hi Friend,

Yesterday, Congresswoman Titus was joined by some of our IPN storytellers
to speak about the struggles that Nevadans have to face when it comes to
prescription drug prices yesterday on KNPR’s State of Nevada. You can tune
in [ [link removed] ]here to listen to the full interview.

Today we also celebrate the 12 year anniversary of the Affordable Care
Act! Our Executive Director Annette Magnus said today, “In these 12 years
we have been able to see 30 million people get covered by obtaining
private health insurance or by enrolling in Medicaid. No one should be
denied healthcare due to it being unaffordable.”

Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, the ACA has been able to provide even
more Nevadans with care! Here is how we have been able to expand:

 1. 101,000 Nevadans enrolled in a Marketplace plan during this year’s
Open Enrollment Period
 2. 24% increase in coverage in 2021 due to the expansions of cost-saving
subsidies.
 3. $800 in savings per person last year, and thousands per family because
of ARP affordability measures.

Unfortunately, as corporations gouge Americans on other goods,
prescription drug prices also continue to rise, leaving many Nevada’s in a
tough place. No one should have to choose between paying for their rent
and bills or a life-saving prescription. Just as we were able to pass the
Affordable Care Act, we must urge our leaders to continue taking action to
lower the costs of prescription drugs as our next big step to address
healthcare. Too many Americans continue to struggle to be able to pay for
their prescriptions and it’s time for Congress to cap the costs of
prescription drugs.

If you or anyone you know struggles with prescription drug prices,

heard on these critical issues!
