Join us for our FIRST EVER Teach-In, April 23, 2022, in-person at FDR park! What does research tell us about the need to attract and retain more teachers of color in classrooms throughout Pennsylvania? Join Research for Action (RFA) and distinguished experts on this topic on Saturday, April 23, to find out.  KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Dr. Camika Royal Associate Professor of Urban Education at Loyola University Maryland Quthor of Not Paved for Us: Black Educators and Public School Reform in Philadelphia, to be released in May 2022 FEATURED PRESENTER: The Center for Black Educator Development Revolutionizing education by dramatically increasing the number of Black educators so that low-income Black and otherdisenfranchised students can reap the full benefits of a quality public education.  Date: Saturday, April 23, 2022 Time: 10am-12:30pm, lunch included for attendees! Yet research also tells us that all students benefit from meaningful representation and diversity in the teaching ranks. RFA is hosting a Teach-In to create and support a structure for participants to become informed and inspired about this important topic and to provide tools to contribute to efforts addressing issues of access and equity in education for teachers of color.
