Today marks 12 years since the Affordable Care Act was signed into law, but 12 years later, National Republicans are still talking about repealing the ACA and taking away health care from hundreds of millions of Americans. Just this month, Senator Ron Johnson said that if Republicans take back power, they should move quickly on repealing the ACA.
Nearly 900,000 New Jerseyans gained coverage through the ACA, and the uninsured rate in our state dropped by over five percentage points. And it gave vital protections to 130 million Americans with pre-existing conditions, including over 315,000 New Jerseyans in our district.
Twelve years later and after everything we’ve gone through with the pandemic, the last thing we should be talking about is taking away health care.
We should be expanding access to health care and making it more affordable -- and that’s exactly what I’m doing in Congress.
We ended surprise medical billing so patients aren’t stuck between their doctor and insurance companies. I’m working to lower the cost of prescription drugs and expand telehealth services, and I will continue to stand up to every effort to strip away health care from the New Jerseyans who are depending on it.
I need you to stay in this fight with me. Will you add your name and show your support for protecting access to health care and making it more affordable for New Jerseyans and Americans across the country?
Thank you for all you do,
Mikie
