Friends,
Mayor Bowser is moving to delay [[link removed]] expanding DC’s paid leave benefits and wants to pull nearly half a billion dollars from the fund. This is not a money problem, it’s a leadership problem. We have a record-setting $19 billion budget. The money is there to make this happen but the Mayor has decided instead to dismiss the needs of working families. And this is nothing new — just last year, she tried to redirect money from paid family leave to pay for tax relief for businesses.
We need leadership that understands what working families are going through. Like many other families without paid leave, my wife and I had to stitch together sick days and vacation when both of our daughters were born. This is the reality for most of us. I need your help to make sure we have a Mayor who understands this reality. Can you sign up to volunteer and help us get the word out about our campaign? [[link removed]]
Families can't afford another four years of out-of-touch leadership. As Mayor, I will fight everyday for working families and make paid leave a priority. You can help us get there. Working families are powering this campaign. Join me in knocking doors, making calls, and meeting folks in every neighborhood of DC [[link removed]] . We can win this election, but only if we do it together.
My best,
Robert
