Folks — Candidate filings just wrapped up here in the Nevada Governor’s race, and here’s where we stand: 15 Republicans are now vying to defeat Gov. Sisolak. That’s an absurdly big field, but here’s the good news: they’re burning through extraordinary sums of money trying to sling mud at each other. But here’s the bad news: We’re still behind on our March fundraising goal, and we know that whichever Republican eventually emerges from their brutal primary will benefit from millions of dollars in TV ads from DC groups like the Republican Governors Association.
Our opponents are taking increasingly desperate steps to out-Trump each other and stand out from the field. And while that gives us a real opening right now, let’s be clear: this is still likely to be one of the closest races in the country, and the Cook Political Report lists Nevada as one of the states likeliest to flip red this year. Thank you so much for your support. -Team Steve Sisolak
