It is my greatest pleasure to tell you, my friends and longtime supporters, that I am running for t he Virginia State Senate, to represent the great communities of District 33 in Prince William and Fairfax Counties.
I was humbled to be your Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor in 2021. And before that, I was honored to serve our community for two terms as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates. As the Chief Deputy Whip, I helped lead the fight to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment, I fought to ensure that we protect an individual’s right to choose, and I was a deciding vote to expand Medicaid - giving over 500,000 Virginians access to affordable healthcare. We made so much progress in our Commonwealth in just four years, but we still have so much to do to ensure a just and prosperous future for all Virginians.
Right now, so many Virginia families are feeling squeezed due to the regressive and obstructionist policies spearheaded by Republicans. This is not the time to sit on the sidelines. And that is why I have decided to run for Virginia State Senate: to tackle our biggest challenges and to get our Commonwealth moving forward.
