I met the love of my life at a political event.
If you know me, that’s hard to believe, but it’s true.
You see, a mutual friend made sure Annette and I were at the same event. When I first saw her, let me tell you, I was breathtaken. We chatted for a while and I learned a bit about her — her childhood in Colombia, her dad the WWII vet, and of course her dog Toby.
As the night came to a close, and folks started leaving the party, I saw her get into her car and she was off.
Frankly, I thought I’d blown it.
But, a few days later I got a call, and we had our first official date planned. Now, (according to Annette at least) she felt “obligated” to go out with me because she had “promised” our mutual friend she would.
Regardless of whether that’s true or not, our first date was really special. We talked for hours, and more than anything else, I just remember laughing.
Six weeks later Annette proposed to me. And six months after that, well…
Now, my wife Annette is running for Governor and I’m asking for your support.
Politics is rough, especially here in Florida. As a husband, of course, I don't want to see Ron DeSantis’ campaign put up negative ads or spread misinformation about my wife.
BUT: I also know that this fight is so important, that Annette is the best candidate to take on DeSantis and win, and she’ll be ready on day one to lead Florida in a new and better direction.
Even if I had never met Annette, she’d have my vote.
Here’s the part where I ask you for money. Like I said earlier, Annette and I met at a political fundraiser. Did I know six months after that, we’d be married? Not necessarily. That she’d be running for Governor of Florida. Again, not necessarily.
But Annette is an incredible person, an incredible mom, and an incredible wife. I can’t help but think about that first event and smile as I ask you:
Will you donate $5 to help my wife defeat Ron DeSantis?
Thanks,
Eric Goldstein
