John,

When I was first running for Congress in 2018, having the support of
existing Members of Congress and organizations was critical. My former law
school professor, Senator Elizabeth Warren, provided me with advice on how
to run my campaign, find staff, and importantly: she helped me with
fundraising. New candidates rely on early supporters who will contribute
and help their campaigns get off the ground.

That’s why in 2020 I started Truth to Power, an organization dedicated to
helping elect candidates who reject corporate PAC money and will fight for
political and economic reform that will benefit working people.

Today I’m excited to introduce you to four more Truth to Power endorsed
candidates. They could really use your help ramping up their campaigns,

Nikki Budzinski, Robert Garcia

Max Rose

About Max: Max Rose is the former Congressman for NY-11, and in Congress
we co-founded the End Corruption caucus. Max served in the war in
Afghanistan, earning a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service, and
last year he served as a Senior Adviser to Secretary of Defense Lloyd
Austin.

The race: Max is running in NY-11, which includes Staten Island and
Brooklyn. This race is one of the best pick up opportunities in the
country, and he’s running against a Trump endorsed Republican who
supported the lie that Donald Trump won the 2020 election.

Why he's running: Max is running to put government back on the side of
working people, not just those who can afford a lobbyist or have a
corporate PAC.

Erica Smith

About Erica: Erica is a former State Senator, educator, minister, and
mother, committed to making government work for all of us, not just the
wealthy and the well-connected.

The race: Reproductive freedom, voting rights, and universal healthcare
are on the ballot in NC-01. Not taking a dime of corporate PAC or fossil
fuel money, Erica's building a people-powered movement that meets this
moment for working families.

Why she’s running: Erica grew up in eastern North Carolina working on the
same family farm on the same land where her ancestors were enslaved not
that long ago. This is her home, and the community that's been there for
her throughout her life. Now, with her community under attack by corporate
monopolies, a rigged economy, a broken healthcare system, and a government
that isn't responsive enough to the needs of working people, she's
committed to being there for the community that's always been there for
her.

Nikki Budzinski

About Nikki: Nikki is a labor advocate who has spent her career fighting
for working people. Most recently, she served in the Biden Administration
as the Chief of Staff at the Office of Management and Budget.

About the Race: Nikki is running in the newly drawn IL-13, which includes
central and southern Illinois. President Biden won IL-13 by 11 points in
2020 and the Cook Political Report named Nikki's campaign as a "bright
spot" for Democrats this November. Nikki’s race is the only
Republican-held open seat in the Midwest and is a must-win seat for
Democrats to hold the majority.

Why She’s Running: From spending a decade in the labor movement advocating
for retail workers and meatpackers, to leading the fight in Illinois to
pass a $15 minimum wage, Nikki has always fought for working people. She’s
running for Congress to make sure families in central and southern
Illinois have a champion in Congress.

Robert Garcia

About Robert: Robert Garcia has served for eight years as Long Beach's
first Latino and openly gay Mayor. Robert immigrated to the United States
with his mother when he was just 5 years old, and he says becoming a
citizen is his proudest moment and the reason he went into public service.
He is a fierce progressive and his leadership in Long Beach has been
championed as a national model for pandemic recovery.

About the Race: CA-42 is a newly drawn district which includes Long Beach
and cities southeast of LA. Robert is running a strong grassroots campaign
and proudly rejecting corporate PAC money.

Why He's Running: Robert believes that this country can, and should
provide a real shot at opportunity for everyone, and he will work hard
everyday to make that a reality in Congress.

I’m so excited that Truth to Power is able to support these candidates.
