Hi there,

Introduced earlier this year, the EAGLES Act hopes to help prevent future school shootings by expanding the U.S. Secret Service’s National Threat Assessment Center with a greater focus on school violence prevention.

The National Threat Assessment Center has been essential to thwarting mass shooters and targeted violence since it was first created in 2008. The EAGLES Act expands the program that prioritizes research into the origins of targeted violence and directs key funding to prevent the next mass school shooting.

This bill has bipartisan support in both the U.S. House and Senate. Now, our elected officials need to hear from their constituents. Please help by showing your support for safer schools for America’s students and staff members.

Can you take a moment to ask your members of Congress to support and pass the EAGLES Act? Our easy-to-use email tool will connect you with your Senators and Representatives in just a few clicks! [[link removed]]

Stand with Parkland has been working with the U.S. Secret Service to promote their new National Threat Assessment Center report, which will help communities and school administrations better spot a troubled person and get them help before an attack occurs.

The best way to stop the next school shooting is to proactively prevent it. Don’t wait for your community to become the next Parkland.

Federal legislation such as the EAGLES Act, in partnership with the knowledge and training provided by the new National Threat Assessment Center report, will allow communities to make more informed decisions and identify the kids that need help and create effective support programs for them.

Contact your legislators and encourage them to pass the bipartisan EAGLES Act. [[link removed]]

Signing this legislation into law would be a win for both sides of the aisle – and failure to act is a great loss for all Americans.

Thank you for taking action,

-- Stand with Parkland
