On March 21, 4:44 PM, a common strategy used in Illinois politics was used on our campaign along with 109 other candidates across the state; our paperwork was challenged. 

We received notice that a bad actor within the Republican party has filed an objection in an attempt to get us bogged down in a costly legal battle where they will try to see us removed from the ballot.

The people of rural Illinois’ 17th congressional district need a fighter. It is clear that the Republicans want as little competition as possible. We must fight to make sure that we make it onto the ballot so that we can help hold the Democrats’ razor-thin majority.

We cannot afford to get caught up in a costly signature battle fueled by Republican dark money groups. Our competitors have had the past year to build a war chest of funds to attempt to remove competition before we even get the chance to fight.
