No joke, this introductory webinar is a must for new stewards! Topics include the role of the steward, worksite representation, and 5 USC Chapter 71 – the law outlining federal employee union representatives’ rights.
Monday, April 11 from 1:00pm – 5:00pm Eastern: Local Officers Online Orientation
An overview for new local officers, this training examines the roles and responsibilities of elected officers at the local level, including legal, fiduciary, and reporting requirements as well as planning and budgeting.
Wednesday, April 20 and Thursday, April 21 from 12:00pm – 6:00pm Eastern: Workers’ Compensation: Basic
This two day introductory training by AFGE workers’ comp expert Joe Mansour covers the five essential elements of filing a workers’ comp claim for federal workers, Publication CA-810, the ECOMP system, and timelines. Participants must attend both days.
