Defeating Paul LePage and his brand of divisive and hateful politics doesn’t start or stop in November, John. Every race, day, and dollar counts in the fight to protect our progress.
That’s why we established the Evergreen Project – to start organizing and winning elections now. In Hancock County, Republican Brian Langley is running in the Senate special election with LePage’s backing and we’re mobilizing to defeat him.
This is a critical race to win because not only does winning keep extremist views out of the state house but it’s one of the first steps towards defeating LePage in November. This sends a strong message to Maine Republicans that we won’t back down and turn back the clock to a broken status quo.
Just like LePage, you only need to look as far as Langley’s record to see what he prioritizes. He’s stood in the way of more affordable health care coverage, expanding Medicaid, raising the minimum wage, reproductive rights, and more.
Just like LePage, he’s only promising more of the same.
The last thing this state needs is another round of leaders who put far-right partisan interests above their own constituents’ livelihoods. If he wins, Langley would be part of a Maine Republican Party that supports whatever extreme measures LePage proposes.
Thank you,
Izzy
