Mitch McConnell and national Republicans see Vermont’s Senate seat as a
“sleeper” race for November’s midterms.
Here’s why they see a potential win here: while President Biden and other
Democrats won big in the 2020 election, Vermont’s Republican governor won
reelection by 41 points—the largest margin of victory in a Vermont
governor’s race in nearly 25 years.
There’s a lot on the line: protecting our democracy, combating climate
change, and lowering the price of prescription drugs all hinge on
Democratic control of the Senate. And with national Republicans already
talking about spending big to defeat Peter, we need to fight back.
